The Isaiah 61 project
In 2025 we initiated the Isaiah 61 project, an initiative aimed at restoring and relaunching the physical property and the ministries and outreaches of Calvary Chapel Entebbe (CCE) that had been devastated by 4 years of flooding. Much progress was made in our first year. Offices and classrooms have been renewed. Buildings have been restored. A new water treatment plant has been installed and a new toilet and septic system is up and running for the church and school! As of February 2026, Cornerstone Christian Academy has been relaunched with 80 children K-1 grades!
In this year of 2026, we are focusing on funding and accomplishing four major projects.
Augmenting Medical Clinic - Partnering with Hope Medical Clinic and Hope Smiles Uganda.
Hope Medical clinic operates on the grounds of CCE and offers medical services to the church, the school, and the community. ShineOn! Partners with Hope Medical Clinic as well as Hope Smiles Uganda to provide on going dental and medical care for impoverished and hard to reach communities and villages on the shore and island communities of Lake Victoria. We also partner with Buyamba to provide ongoing medical and dental care to over 2000 students at God Cares High School. In 2025, over 6000 people were cared for as a result of ShineOn!’s effort and many, over 1000 received dental treatments for the first time.
Projects for 2026
Fund and augment the medical clinic and dental outreaches - $32,000 (This will provide funds for the medical clinic year round and fund ongoing dental outreaches at the communities we reach)

Cornerstone Christian Academy Dining Room Kitchen
Calvary Christian Academy was established in 2007 as a primary school to serve the underprivileged children in the impoverished communities of the church. Until 2020, it was a thriving elementary school with 450 students providing an excellent education to children who would otherwise be overlooked. Tragically, flooding of lake Victoria which started in 2020 and continued through 2023 flooded and destroyed much of the infrastructure and many of the buildings of the church and school, including the toilets, kitchen and dining room, along with much of the electrical, water, and sewerage infrastructure, such that the school became in-operable. After a one year planned closure, the school is being re-launched as Cornerstone Christian Academy serving 80 students K-1 grades in the first year, and up to 7th grade in future years. We were able to re-locate and rebuild the water treatment facility and the toilets and sewerage facilities in 2025. This year our goal is to build a dining room and kitchen that will serve the school (population of 250 children) and the church.
Projects for 2026
-
Fund the building of the dining room kitchen - $140,000
-
Reclaiming and securing lost land by building a Lake wall and backfilling low elevation areas. - $21,000
-
Dining room/kitchen complex for the school - $119,000

A State-of-the-art Play Ground for the Cornerstone Christian Academy
Historically, Calvary Chapel Christian academy had a vast lake front open area designated for recreation, sports, and children’s play area. It was beautiful. Tragically, this was all destroyed and lost in the 4 year flooding! However, with the help of well placed partners, we are looking to reclaim some of the lost land and restore the play fields and playgrounds. Partnering with several churches and “Kids around the World”, we have four state of the art, refurbished, playgrounds from the United States being shipped to Uganda, ready to be installed by September of 2026. Our part? To provide the funds for transportation and installation. In addition, we are exploring a joint venture with “Mungu Academy”, a Uganda based football (soccer) development academy providing education and sport development opportunity for children in Uganda. The astro turf field has been donated. Our part, to prepare the field for installation. This will require anti flooding sea-walls to be build and fill to raise the level of the existing field area.
Projects for 2026
-
Total cost for playgrounds - $61,000 ($10,000 each)
-
Total cost for athletic pitch $94,000

ShineOn! Prayer Child Champion Education Initiative
Be a “Prayer Child Champion”! We are relaunching the school as “Cornerstone Christian Academy”, and our motto is to Disciple, Educate, Elevate. Disciple our children to be followers of Christ. Educate our children to be the best prepared to be productive and God glorifying citizens. Elevate our children out of the hopelessness of poverty into hopefulness of life in Christ and prosperity. We are also relaunching a program to provide excellent eduction to impoverished children and their families. Over the years, we have found that “child sponsorship programs”, while well intentioned, are problematic in creating unhealthy expectations and dependency on foreign donors, taking away the responsibility of raising children from their biological parents, and creating a “class structure” of “sponsored kids” and unsponsored kids within schools and communities, spawning jealousy, envy, and resentment between children and families of sponsored and unsponsored children.
As we relaunch Cornerstone Christian Academy, we are learning from past mistakes and pioneering a new way of partnering with impoverished families to provide excellent education for their needy children.
Introducing…“ Prayer Child Champions” or PCC. As as “Champion” you subscribe to a monthly donation of $30, $60, or $90, which funds go entirely to Cornerstone Academy to provide tuition for education, school requirements, uniforms and sports clothing, and 2 nutritious meals a day to EVERY child that attends the school. All children have ALL necessities. No children are disadvantaged because their parents are poorer. All parents are required to participate by partnering financially with the school and the Prayer Child Champions on a 30/70 basis. In addition, these funds provide for outreach and intervention programs to the families of the children, including marriage classes, parenting classes, and spiritual growth and maturity through the church programs. As a “Champion”, while you support the school, the child, and the family, you are committing to pray for the child, their family, and their class, and are invited to communicate with the prayer child through the school social worker. Special gifts to the children, while welcome, are not necessary.
